'You mustn't eat the dough...'

...is what the adorable 3 year old said to me as she ate it, on this super fun crafty day with kids. Using salt dough to make Christmas tree decorations using simple cookie cutters and acrylic paint. Trying my hand at working with kids, and starting small wit some pre-Christmas babysitting / craft workshop for friends' kids.

Art therapy - divination cards

These are some divination cards I painted for my course in their very first layers of paint. They are meant to explore the positive and negative sides of power, growth, meaning and integration; and be used as symbols to provoke reflection and conversation with a client. It had been a while since I'd painted with gouache, it was a messy business but the finished cards came up well. They stayed very matte though, even after several layers of satin varnish - but that's gouache on cardboard for you!

Hope you're feeling better soon...

A simple card made with collage, buttons
and beads and gouache. For a friend's sick sister. Used a liquid rather than stick glue - the very watery ripple effect in the glued on paper (unintentional!) is the sad result, but at least it matches the watery ripple effect in the paint (intentional). Stick glue I love you.
